About UC Knowledge
UC Knowledge is a portal which offers descriptions of publications, research and development projects, lesson plans, consultant activities, and non-written output from the seven University Colleges and Danish School of Media and Journalism.
In 2008, the Rectors' Conference - University Colleges Denmark decided to turn the IT-system Pure (Publication and Research Platform) into a common sector-rooted knowledge registration system. Pure is developed by Atira A/S and is a standard software CRIS (Current Research Information System) and a full-text self-archiving system. The employees of the participating institutions submit their knowledge production to Pure in order to make it available on local internet portals as well as on a national UC Knowledge portal. The registration of the knowledge production in UC Knowledge commenced in 2010 and, on a daily basis, new content is being added.
It is a continuing project to develop the portal both technically and quality-wise in order to contribute to the vision of the Danish University Colleges for the knowledge foundation of the University Colleges
It is the ambition of the University Colleges to obtain a certain degree of excellence in conducting the constructive cooperation between the holders of knowledge in the professional field. Therefore, the University Colleges find it important to develop, expand and transform the cooperation between research, education and practice to bring new knowledge into play in the professional field - and thereby contribute to the solution of some of the central challenges of the welfare society.
